An experienced cook is required to work 12 hours/week and 18 hours/week as a kitchen assistant in our residential home preparing/ cooking meals and baking for approximately 45 people. The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain good relationships with our staff and residents. Thank you to our very talented Elizabeth Pearson who recently finished this beautiful mural painting for everyone at Brooklands. This was created to remember residents we have loved and lost, as well as those currently with us. Changing leaves in different colours will represent our residents who will be remembered affectionately.
The care she is currently receiving is extraordinary and should be used as an example for every nursing home in the country. The feeling in the home is one of peace and kindness due to the excellent Manager and the lovely team. The house itself feels like a private home and the garden is beautifully kept. I could go on eulogising for ever but I think this wonderful place can be summed up in one word - INSPIRATIONAL.

Brooklands accommodates 29 residents for long and short term nursing care. Qualified staff are on duty 24 hours a day and provide a high standard of professional care. Being able to support staff in the care home in the achievement of the highest possible standards and maintaining residents’ nutritional needs. As a Care Assistant, you will have the satisfaction of really helping and enabling people to live as independently as possible! You will be offering companionship, personal care such as bathing or going to the toilet, or help with feeding and help with activities. We also take our responsibility to support each team member very seriously which is reflected in our wide variety of opportunities, regular team celebration events and range of benefits. Brooklands Antrim have two activity therapists who co-ordinate and deliver social activities for our residents. Our residents enjoy life to the full by creating new memories and gaining a sense of belonging and self worth.

I was particularly grateful for the professionalism shown by yourself Kay, Ancy and Jyothi and all of the staff in helping to ease Mum through her final days. You will have a high level of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety knowledge. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook who has a passion for cooking homely meals and enjoys working as part of a lively team in a care home. Previous experience in care is not necessary as we provide full training. You must have a genuine interest in working within the care environment and you will be required to assist residents with personal care and hygiene.
